Ivy Coach’s Crystal Ball Takes on the UFlorida Class of 2030

Admissions rates at the University of Florida have dipped quite noticeably in the past five years. Five years ago, for the University of Florida Class of 2025, exactly one-third of applicants received admission. For the Class of 2029, this was down by over 10%, with only 19.77% of applicants to the University of Florida getting in. This is because applications to the University have soared in the past years. The Class of 2028 saw 22,348 more applications than the Class of 2025. 

For the University of Florida Class of 2030, we predict this pattern will continue: application numbers will continue to soar and acceptance rates will plummet. 

Unfortunately, the University of Florida has a bad habit of not releasing data on its Early Action program, so it’s hard to break down the acceptance rate at the University of Florida into its constituent parts. Still, it’s safe to assume that, like other competitive schools, Florida shows its love for students who show that Florida is their top choice by choosing it as their Early Action school. What Separates Successful Applicants to the University of Florida from the Rest

As the University of Florida becomes even more competitive to get into, the students admitted become even more impressive. Let’s quickly discuss what separated the applicants admitted to the University of Florida Class of 2029 from the rest. 

The average SAT score for the University of Florida Class of 2028 was a 1400, and the average ACT score was a 31. The University of Florida is not a test-optional school. 53% of those students had 4.0s in high school and 41% had GPAs higher than 3.75. 

These applicants also definitely boasted impressive extracurricular achievements. This means depth over breadth. depth over breadth. If you’re a member of the debate team, the robotics team, the field hockey team, and the drama department…well, then, you’re merely a member of those groups. You don’t stand out in any of these pursuits. The University of Florida would much rather accept a nationally ranked debate champ than a kid who spent an hour or two on debate a week because he spent the rest forgetting Shakespeare lines and fumbling the ball in football practice.
