Trinity College is an elite liberal arts college located in Hartford, CT. And much like its Ivy League neighbor just due south of campus, Trinity holds its applicants to pretty rigorous academic standards. While there is no official minimum GPA requirement for admission, prospective applicants should take note of the GPA stats of recently admitted students in order to develop a clearer picture of how they might fare in this process.

Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place to discover just how academically-inclined Trinity admits are. Let’s dive in.

What is a Good GPA To Get into Trinity?

To ground the rest of this conversation, let’s review the Trinity acceptance rate. For applicants to Trinity’s Class of 2028, a slim 29.0% received good news in the form of an acceptance letter. For the Class of 2027, this figure stood at 29.35%, while it stood at 33.52% for the Class of 2026.

Further Context on GPAs of Trinity College Students

While the data reported above do appear to indicate that somewhere between 40% and 55% of students admitted to Trinity in any given year graduated in the top tenth percent of their high school class, it should be noted that because fewer than 20% of students reported their high school rank, this data isn’t super reliable. Still, it’s a pretty good rule of thumb that you should, at the very least, be graduating in the top quarter of your graduating class if you have your sights set on Trinity.

Can I Get into Trinity with a Low GPA?

Without a doubt, it’s possible to get into Trinity College with a lackluster GPA. But make no mistake: it’s not likely. Admission officers will be the first to point out that grades aren’t everything in a world where the students with flawless scores can fall victim to being uninspiring, but GPA still forms the bedrock of any competitive application.
