Taking a look at this decade’s worth of data, one really gets a sense of just how much variability there is to the waitlist acceptance rate from year to year. For the Class of 2024 (the first admission cycle following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and thus a time when many would-be applicants decided to take a gap year), nearly 90% of waitlisted Lehigh applicants ended up earning admission. The following year, for the Class of 2025, this figure rapidly decreased to 4.91%. For some years, such as for the Class of 2019 cycle, Lehigh did not dip into its waitlist at all. 

The little-known factor with a big influence on this shifting metric is Lehigh’s yield rate from year to year (or the percentage of admitted students who choose to enroll). 4. Send follow-up letters after submitting your Letter of Continued Interest. One is enough. Subsequent letters will be self-defeating.
5. Conduct ridiculous waitlist campaigns. Billboard, chocolates, personal petitions, pitching tents… they’ve seen it before, and they’re fed up!
