By now, admissions results have been released to all the applicants to the Colgate University Class of 2030. Ivy Coach’s Crystal Ball Takes on the Colgate Class of 2030

For the Class of 2030, applications to Colgate University will likely stay around last year’s 20,668. Applications to Colgate University have stayed relatively consistent over the past five years, and there’s not much reason there would be a significant dip or surge this application cycle. That means Colgate University’s acceptance rate will remain mighty competitive. 

What will stay consistent is Colgate University’s love for applicants for students who make binding commitments to attend. In the past five admissions cycles, the Early Decision admission rate to Colgate University has been dramatically higher than the Regular Decision admission rate. These applicants also definitely boasted impressive extracurricular achievements. This means depth over breadth. depth over breadth. If you’re a member of the debate team, the robotics team, the field hockey team, and the drama department…well, then, you’re merely a member of those groups. You don’t stand out in any of these pursuits. Colgate University College would much rather accept a nationally ranked debate champ than a kid who spent an hour or two on debate a week because he spent the rest forgetting Shakespeare lines and fumbling the ball in football practice. 

Finally, let’s look at the waitlist for the Colgate University Class of 2028. 2,433students were offered a spot on the waitlist. 1,338 accepted that spot. 48 of them were eventually admitted. That’s a waitlist acceptance rate of 3.59%.
