A total of 1,041 students out of 3,593 with dreams of joining the Eagles of Emory University had their dreams come true during the Early Decision I round for the Class of 2030 admission cycle. These lucky Early Decision I admits represent students admitted both to Emory College Emory College (A.K.A. ECAS, the Atlanta wing of the Emory undergraduate community) and Oxford College (for students seeking a quieter campus outside the city in Oxford, GA for their first two years at Emory).

While the binding Early Decision II round has yet to be conducted, once we have the ED II acceptance rate and can combine both rounds into an overall Early Decision acceptance rate, Ivy Coach’s readers will be the first to know!

As an Emory University press release reports, “Of the 1,041 students accepted in the Early Decision I process, 845 were admitted to Emory College, 417 were admitted to Oxford College and 221 were admitted to both colleges and can pick which campus to attend in the fall.” Emory also notes that these ED I admits were drawn from the largest pool on record for the private research university. By our tabulations, with 3,593 students in the ED I pool and 1,041 chosen, the ED I acceptance rate comes out at 28.97%.

For admission to the Class of 2029, 10% of Emory College applicants earned admission in the Early Decision II round. This figure stood at 11% for Oxford College. The Early Decision I acceptance rate for both colleges was 30.05%. In the previous year, the Early Decision I acceptance rate was 32% for the Class of 2028 across both colleges, while the Emory College ED II rate was 12% and the Oxford College ED II rate was 11%.

Taken as a whole, this data highlights that Early Decision acceptance rates have been decreasing at Emory at a slow but steady clip, a trend which has continued through the 2025-2026 cycle.
