Washington and Lee Class of 2030 Statistics in Historical Perspective

Even though the specifics of this year’s admissions cycle to W&L are still under wraps, the trends in applications laid out in the graph above show that interest in Washington and Lee has been strongest during the last five admissions cycles, prior to which there was a notable decline in applicant interest spanning roughly the Classes of 2019 through 2024. Over the last five years, an average of 7,567 students have applied to W&L, while only 1,201, or 16.11%, have been admitted on average each year. Whether the Class of 2030 will prove to be a continuation of the recent spike in applications or mark a turning point back towards lower interest, akin to the late 2010s, remains to be seen. But considering the Class of 2029’s 8,963 applicants and 13.39% acceptance rate were both records for Washington and Lee, the Class of 2030 could very well capitalize on this momentum and set some new records of their own.

Profile of Washington and Lee Admits to the Class of 2030

If you’ve been patiently awaiting the demographic information on this new crop of admits, you’ll just have to wait a little longer, as W&L officials have yet to publicly release any statistics regarding this year’s students’ academic, socioeconomic, racial, or geographic profile. However, you shouldn’t have to wait too much longer, as all will be revealed with the publication of the 2026-2027 Common Data Set, a federally facilitated digital report of all things admissions, which should become available within the next few months.
