Although the official statistics for the Class of 2030, including precise figures, have yet to be published, Wake Forest University officials issued a press release claiming a record 18% acceptance rate this year. This data underscores a trend toward greater selectivity at this private research university, with the previous record-low acceptance rate set by the Class of 2026. Additionally, the applicant pool of over 21,000 is a new record for Wake Forest University, marking a highly successful (and selective!) year at this elite school.

Demographic Breakdown of Wake Forest’s Class of 2030

Without any admissions data, there’s nothing we can share about the newly incoming students. We don’t know whether they have a more competitive academic profile than the Class of 2029, how many of them hailed from international countries, what the first-generation representation looks like in this class, or the racial makeup.

Even once Wake Forest officials choose to come forward with this demographic info, it will likely be an incomplete profile, as Wake Forest cannot legally collect data on the racial composition of the incoming class until they enroll next fall, as per the 2023 SCOTUS ruling outlawing the use of race-based affirmative action in college admissions.
