University of Wisconsin’s Class of 2030 in Historical Perspective
The average acceptance rate to UW-Madison over the last five years was a modest 47.74%, based on an average applicant pool of 63,488 during the same period. The average size of the admitted student cohort over the last five years was 29,898. By all accounts, the Class of 2029 marked a record-setting year for the University of Wisconsin, with an all-time high of 73,912 students applying and a record-low acceptance rate of 40.81%.
Coming on the heels of this record-setting year, the Class of 2030 could very well break a new record for UW-Madison and produce an acceptance rate that dips into the 30% range for the first time ever. However, this projection would still place the school well above the competitive acceptance rates at other schools of the University of Wisconsin’s caliber, where typically fewer than 20% of applicants are admitted.
