Haverford College is a liberal arts school located (somewhat obviously) in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Their five core values are as follows: Academic Excellence and Open Inquiry, Freedom of Expression, Inclusion and Belonging for All, Ethical Inquiry and Leadership, and Sustainability and the Natural Environment. Students who find all of these values aligned with their own mission may want to consider submitting an application. Haverford College Admissions Rate

For the Class of 2029, fewer than 1,000 students were admitted to Haverford College. The acceptance rate for the class was just 13.3%, down there with many other selective liberal arts colleges. Because of this, students will need to put themselves in the most advantageous position possible when applying in order to really be considered for acceptance.

For the Class of 2028, of the 7,341 students who applied, only 908 were accepted. The admissions rate for the previous year was slightly higher, but this is likely owing to the fact that almost exactly 1,000 fewer students applied for the Class of 2028. If the trend continues, Haverford College’s admissions rate will only get lower over time.

Because Haverford did not publicize their Common Data Set for the Class of 2026, in order to get an idea of admissions trends, we’re looking a bit farther back. There was a stark 5% drop in admissions between the Class of 2025 and the Class of 2027, and again, there’s been an increase in applicants by about 1,000 students each year since the Class of 2023.

It’s easy to look at the change in admissions rate over the past six years and wonder what GPA will guarantee acceptance to Haverford College. We can answer that: there is no GPA that guarantees admissions to elite schools with single-digit or low double-digit acceptance rates! After all, many top schools reject thousands of applicants per year who possess perfect grades and perfect test scores.

Haverford College also does not publish the GPA ranges of accepted students or their enrolled students, so it becomes even harder to answer the question above. There is no magic number that will do the trick, but based on their acceptance rates, students should definitely be hovering as close to 4.0 as they can if they’re planning an application to Haverford College.

Something that can help contextualize target GPAs for hopeful Haverford applicants are the average SAT and ACT scores of enrolled students. While testing is not required to be admitted, more than half of students enrolled in the Class of 2029 chose to submit them.

All of these scores are on the top end of the spectrum; students submitting an application to Haverford will of course want to be sending similar, if not higher, scores to the college.
