Colorado College Class of 2030 Statistics in Historical Perspective

The last few years have seen a troubling decline in applicant interest in Colorado College. While the Class of 2023 set the record for the lowest acceptance rate (13.5%) and the Class of 2025 set the record for the most applicants (10,975), the last four years have seen both figures move in the wrong direction. Most recently, for admission to the Class of 2029, only 8,822 students applied, and 1,949 were admitted, for a 22.09% acceptance rate, the highest since the Class of 2017 was admitted over twelve years ago. 

The predominant trend across most elite institutions over the last two decades has been decreasing acceptance rates and ballooning applicant pools. If Colorado College admissions officials can’t keep up with this momentum, they won’t be able to maintain their reputation as a highly selective institution. Whether the Class of 2030 will buck this trend remains to be seen, but the signs point to yet another year of disappointing results.

This year’s geographic, socioeconomic, racial, and academic profiles covering the Colorado Class of 2030 have yet to be published. However, the 2026-2027 Common Data Set (which is a federal reporting initiative that puts all the admissions statistics for a given college’s last admission cycle in one document) will furnish answers to all questions anyone may have about the composition of the Class of 2030, so those patiently awaiting this data should stay tuned!
