LGBT Campus Climate

Gay Friendly Colleges, Gay Friendly Universities, LGBT Friendly College
Case Western Reserve University is gay-friendly, according to “Campus Climate.”

“Campus Pride” has released its annual list of the twenty-five most LGBT-friendly colleges and universities across the United States. Any college can be indexed by “Campus Pride” through a self-assessment of their LGBT campus climate. They do this through a 50-question questionnaire covering eight distinct topics: LGBT policy inclusion, LGBT support and institutional commitment, LGBT academic life, LGBT student life, LGBT housing, LGBT campus safety, LGBT counseling and health, and LGBT recruitment and retention efforts.

So which universities in America make this LGBT-friendly ranking, you ask? Washington State University in Pullman, Washington makes the cut. As does the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the University of Minnesota – Duluth in Duluth, Minnesota, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Amherst, Massachusetts, the University of Maryland, College Park in College Park, Maryland, and the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois also made the ranking.

The University of California, Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, California, the University of California, Riverside in Riverside, California, The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Stanford University in Stanford, California, Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey, Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio are also among the most LGBT friendly in the nation. Lots of Minnesota schools, right? Interesting for sure!
