Ivy League Application Deadlines in Fall 2023

When are the Early Decision/Single Choice Early Action deadlines for the fall of 2023 across the Ivy League? While most of America’s highly selective universities have November 1st deadlines for Early Decision/Single Choice Early Action admission, each Ivy League school’s exact Early deadline can occasionally fluctuate from year to year — with postponements typically announced in the waning days of the application windows. But, at present, what are this year’s Early Decision/Early Action application deadlines for the Ivy League schools? Let’s dive in!
Ivy League Early Decision/Early Action Deadlines in 2023
All eight Ivy League schools have application deadlines for the fall 2023 Early Decision/Early Action admissions cycle on November 1, 2023.
These Early deadlines are referenced below, directly by the respective Ivy League institutions:
Ivy League School | Early Decision or Single Choice Early Action | Submission Deadline |
Brown University | Early Decision | November 1, 2023 |
Columbia University | Early Decision | November 1, 2023 |
Cornell University | Early Decision | November 1, 2023 |
Dartmouth College | Early Decision | November 1, 2023 |
Harvard University | Single Choice Early Action | November 1, 2023 |
University of Pennsylvania | Early Decision | November 1, 2023 |
Princeton University | Single Choice Early Action | November 1, 2023 |
Yale University | Single Choice Early Action | November 1, 2023 |
Ivy League Early Admission Deadlines Are Subject to Change
Yet just because these are the announced Early Decision/Early Action deadlines for the respective eight institutions, it doesn’t mean some won’t slightly change as the date gets closer. And why would an Ivy League school move their Early Decision/Early Action deadline by a few days?
In the past, Ivy League schools have moved their Early submission deadlines due to hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, and other natural disasters or events outside applicants’ control.
These events, which are likely to be more frequent in the years to come due to climate change, typically lead schools to extend their Early deadlines, typically by up to a few days. However, students who choose to extend their submission deadlines should be sure to live in the impacted geographic region. Otherwise, their application may not be accepted.
