Cornell Tours Resume
Guess what’s back? Back again. In-person campus tours have resumed at Cornell University. We know, we know. You thought you’d never see the day. But groups of parents and teenagers following closely behind a backward-walking college student will be ubiquitous on Cornell’s campus again. In fact, these tours are already back having resumed on October 15, 2021. So if you’re a senior applying to Cornell this coming admissions cycle, we suggest you make your way on up to Ithaca to check out the campus in person on a real, live campus tour. Tours had been on hold for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now you will get the chance to see campus life up close and personal.
As Aimee Eicher reports for The Cornell Daily Sun in a piece entitled “After a Two-Year Hiatus, In-Person Campus Tours Resume,” “Tours will continue on select dates through Nov. 13. In-person information sessions will resume as well, the first being held on Saturday, Oct. 23. Visitors are required to register for both tours and information sessions in advance on the University’s visitor relations website. For in-person information sessions, visitors must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result within 72 hours of the event.”
Do you think a number of other elite universities will soon follow Cornell’s lead by reinstating in-person campus tours in which visitors must either show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test? Let us know your thoughts on the matter by posting a comment below. We look forward to hearing from you! And hear, hear to Cornell’s admissions office for bringing back in-person tours and information sessions. Since campus tours take place outside in the fresh, crisp Ithaca air, we believe the decision has been long overdue.
