Cornell University Class of 2022 Admission Stats

Cornell 2022, Class of 2022 at Cornell, Cornell University Class of 2022 Admits
Cornell’s banner Early Decision cycle was followed by a banner Regular Decision cycle for the Class of 2022.

Cornell University has released its Regular Decision admissions notifications for the Class of 2022. In all, more than 51,000 students applied to the Ithaca, New York-based institution in the hope of becoming members of the Cornell University Class of 2022. And, yes, that is indeed a record. Among these applicants, 5,288 earned admission (1,533 during the Early Decision round). This figure includes Early Decision admits. The overall admit rate for the university thus also (unsurprisingly) fell this year — to an all-time record low of 10.3%. This is a figure that too reflects both the Early Decision and Regular Decision pools. And how about those waitlisters? 6,684 students were placed on Cornell’s waitlist.

Breakdown of the Cornell University Class of 2022 Admits

As reports Daniel Aloi in a Cornell University press release about its Class of 2022, “Of the admitted first-year students, 33 percent self-identify as underrepresented minority students; 54 percent are students of color, including underrepresented and Asian-American students. Students admitted also include more than 700 first-generation college students…International students make up nearly 9 percent of the Class of 2022. Based on citizenship, admitted students represent 93 nations outside of the United States. The top countries represented other than the U.S. are Canada, China, India, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Admitted students also reside in all 50 states as well as Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Washington, D.C.; and in 73 countries outside the U.S.”

Congratulations to all students who earned admission to Cornell University to be members of the Class of 2022. Go Big Red!
