Brown’s Financial Aid

During the 2023-2024 academic year, 52% of Brown’s first-year students received financial aid or grants. The average family responsibility for the Brown Class of 2027 was $27,580.

The university claims to meet 100% of each student’s demonstrated financial need with no loans. Instead, through The Brown Promise, the university offers scholarship grants that need not be paid back.

Analysis of Brown’s Tuition Through the Years

Over the last two decades, one trend is clear concerning Brown’s tuition: it only goes up! Over these years, the average annual increase for the Ivy League school’s all-in costs has been 3.79%.

Yet, over the last two years, Brown’s tuition has skyrocketed at least 4.5% (4.5% for the 2023-2024 academic year and 4.53% for the 2022-2023 academic year). Hey, inflation has been high over these last couple of years. So, it’s no surprise that top institutions like Brown would raise their total fees.
