Unfortunately, Wesleyan has yet to publish any data covering ED admits to the Class of 2029 (or the recent Class of 2030, for that matter). However, according to the most recently published data, 1,309 applicants applied through Wesleyan’s binding Early Decision round to earn admission to the Class of 2028. Of these applicants, only 502 (38.35%) were admitted. While this was shy of the lowest ED acceptance rate on record for Wesleyan (a distinction held by the Class of 2024), this result has remained consistent with almost a quarter of a century of Early Decision acceptance rate data compiled from Wesleyan’s Common Data Sets.

Wesleyan Early Decision Admissions Statistics Over 24 Years

Three years ago, 41% of Early Decision applicants to the Class of 2027 earned admission to Wesleyan. The year before that, 55% wound up with an acceptance letter for the Class of 2026. Before Wesleyan adopted a test-optional admissions policy in 2014, Early Decision acceptance might have trended ever so slightly higher (since more students apply nowadays because they seek to get in without submitting any scores, thus driving down the acceptance rate), but all told, Early Decision acceptance rates haven’t dwindled at Wesleyan at the same rate as they have at other elite colleges during the same time period.
