The combined Early Decision I and II acceptance rate for Vassar College’s Class of 2030 is still forthcoming. In fact, we also don’t have this data for the Class of 2029 since these numbers still have not been publicly released. So where does that leave us? 2028! The Class of 2028 set a new record for selectivity for this prestigious private liberal arts college. When the dust finally settled, 999 hopeful Brewers had applied via Early Decision I or Early Decision II to join Vassar’s academically distinguished community, while only 312, or 31.2%, of these hopefuls actually earned a spot in the incoming class. This acceptance rate represented a decrease of over two percentage points from last year’s record-setting tally and suggests that recently released decisions for the admission cycle for the Class of 2030 could prove to be the most competitive yet.

Breakdown of the Vassar College Class of 2030 Early Decision Admits

Unfortunately, Vassar admissions officers haven’t been all that forthcoming about the details of the Early Decision admits to the Class of 2030 (or the Class of 2029, for that matter!). We don’t know how many of these students came from private versus public schools, how many will be the first in their families to attend college, or whether the racial composition of the cohort differs from that of the Regular Decision admits or the class as a whole.

In fact, the only verifiable data we have on the current students residing in Poughkeepsie at present comes directly from Vassar’s website, specifically from the Class of 2028 profile. Note that these data do not account for the recently admitted Class of 2030, nor do they distinguish between RD and ED admits:
