Tulane University received a record number of Early Decision applications to its Class of 2024. In fact, the number of Early Decision applications rose by a margin of 35% from last Early cycle for the Class of 2023. In a year in which so many of our nation’s most selective universities saw declines in Early applications (and Regular Decision applications for that matter, too), Tulane stands as one of the exceptions. Since an Early Decision policy was instituted at Tulane in 2016, the number of ED applicants has soared — indeed it has doubled.
Early Decision Applications Surge at Tulane
As Faith Dawson reports in a Tulane University press release entitled “Tulane receives record Early Decision applications,” “Undergraduate applications to Tulane have increased overall, with more than 43,000 applications for the class of 2024, up from 41,365 last year. [Tulane’s vice president of enrollment management and dean of undergraduate admission Satyajit] Dattagupta also projected that the selectivity rate, the number of students who apply to the university versus the number of students who are accepted, for this year would be close to 12%.”
Congratulations to Tulane University on their record Early Decision applicant pool. Stay tuned to see if applications surged at Tulane this Regular Decision cycle, too. We’ll be sure to keep our readers posted.
