Johns Hopkins Class of 2024 Early Decision Statistics

Johns Hopkins University has released its decisions for the Early Decision round of its Class of 2024. Early Decision applications to Johns Hopkins were up 16% this year — to a record high — as compared to the ED application tally for the Class of 2023. In all, 682 students earned admission under JHU’s binding Early Decision policy. This tally includes all of Ivy Coach’s Early Decision applications to Johns Hopkins as each and every one of them earned admission. And we are so happy for them! So just who got in? Wonder no more!

Profiles of Johns Hopkins Class of 2024 Early Decision Admits

While lots of highly selective colleges share the percentage of students who will be the first in their families to attend college, the percentage of underrepresented minorities, the percentage of legacies, the male/female breakdown, and other important statistics (and we love that they share this data!), we always love it when elite colleges share anecdotal accounts of admits. Johns Hopkins’ admissions office did just that this year in their press release about the JHU ED admits to the Class of 2024: “The new students will bring impressive academic and extracurricular accomplishments to Baltimore. The class includes a humanist scholar who analyzes the significance of Shakespeare to Chinese culture; an inventor of an inexpensive, portable camera that can photograph the back of the human eye; a children’s book illustrator; a researcher focused on LGBTQ oncological therapies to eliminate health care access disparities; and an international video game champion.”

Who doesn’t need an inexpensive, portable camera to photograph the back of the human eye? It’s practically as useful as dental floss. In any case, congratulations to all of our students at Ivy Coach who earned admission to Johns Hopkins University this fall. We’re so happy for you! Go Blue Jays!
