Johns Hopkins Class of 2023 Early Decision Admissions Statistics

Congratulations to all of our students who applied Early Decision to JHU this year (photo credit: Cvenghaus).
The results are in for the Class of 2023 Early Decision round at Johns Hopkins University. In all, 2,068 students applied under JHU’s binding Early policy in the hope of earning a spot in the incoming class. The 2,068 students marked an all-time Early pool record for the Baltimore, Maryland-based institution. It’s an increase over last year’s record pool of 2,037 students. And what percentage of this year’s 2,068 applicants earned admission? Just a shade under 31% of students (641 applicants learned they got in this Early cycle).
A Great Time to Attend Johns Hopkins University
As reports Jill Rosen for “Hub” in a piece about JHU’s Class of 2023 Early Decision results, “The 2,068 applicants represent a slight increase from the then-record number who applied early decision last year. Of the 641 admitted students, 32 percent plan to study in the Whiting School of Engineering and 68 percent plan to study in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. ‘These impressive students are joining the Johns Hopkins community at one of the most exciting times in the university’s history,’ said Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Ellen Kim, pointing to the academic opportunities, focus on student services, and the landmark $1.8 billion donation from alumnus Michael Bloomberg that will allow for more comprehensive financial aid packages for undergraduates, including eliminating loans for domestic students.” Color us unsurprised that JHU would make reference to Mayor Bloomberg’s latest remarkable donation to the university in their press release about the Early Decision round for the JHU Class of 2023. His donation was momentous and it should be lauded at every opportunity to encourage more and more students to consider becoming Blue Jays.
And how did Ivy Coach’s students do this year? Just like last year, each and every one of our students at Ivy Coach who applied to Johns Hopkins University in the Early Decision cycle got in. Congratulations to all!
