Emory Class of 2026 Early Decision I Statistics

Early Decision I applications to Emory rose 13% this year.

Emory University’s Early Decision I round for the Class of 2026 is in the books and we’ve got the numbers for our readers. In all, 2,205 students applied in the Early Decision I round to Emory’s Class of 2026. Of these students, 804 earned admission. This marked a 36.46% Early Decision I admission rate for the Atlanta, Georgia-based institution. This same figure stood at 38.93% for the Early Decision I round of the Emory Class of 2025 when 1,975 students applied and 769 earned admission. So during an admissions cycle in which applications were super high at many elite universities — though often not as high as last year — Emory bucked the trend by setting new admissions benchmarks. ED I applications were up by 13% from last cycle and even though Emory accepted more students (likely due to the large number of students in the Class of 2024 who opted to take gap years and thereby filled seats in the Class of 2025), the ED I admit rate dropped to a historic low. Of this year’s ED I admits, 673 were admitted to Emory College, 325 to Oxford College, and 194 earned admission to both.

As Leigh DeLozier and Sarah Darden report for Emory News Center in a piece entitled “Emory selects first members of Class of 2026,” “’We are so pleased to see interest in an Emory education at record levels,’ says John F. Latting, associate vice provost for enrollment and dean of admission. ’The academic preparation of the Early Decision applicant pool and the diversity of their life experiences, talents and interests was exciting for us to see.’…’We know that these have been difficult times for all students as they navigate through high school and on to college, and it’s impressive to see what students have managed to accomplish in spite of it all,’ Latting says. ’I have no doubt that our admitted class is capable of successfully stepping right into our community that values discovery and service to humanity.’”

Congratulations to all of Ivy Coach’s students who completed applications with us and applied Early Decision I to Emory. You all got in. We’re so proud of you!
