Yale University Admissions Essay

We’ve got a couple Yale supplemental admissions essays for you.

A Yale University admissions essay has been released for the coming college admissions cycle and we’ve got it for you. The supplement, which is identical to previous years, reads as follows: “In this second essay, please reflect on something you would like us to know about you that we might not learn from the rest of your application, or on something about which you would like to say more. You may write about anything—from personal experiences or interests to intellectual pursuits.” It’s a very open-ended question that leaves a lot of room for creativity. It’s an easy place to tailor an essay from another college application.

This particular Yale University supplemental essay should be 500 words maximum and it is required of all applicants to Yale. As for prospective engineering students, there is an optional essay that we always encourage our students to do (optional isn’t optional for our students). This essay prompt reads: “If you selected one of the engineering majors, please write a brief third essay telling us what has led you to an interest in this field of study, what experiences (if any) you have had in engineering, and what it is about Yale’s engineering program that appeals to you.”

Other essay prompts for Yale have not yet been released but this should give you a good taste of what’s in store for you Yale University applicants.
