We understand that when you’re in the market for car insurance, you’ll call around to figure out who offers the best, most affordable coverage. Maybe it’s Geico. Oh wait, maybe it’s Allstate. Decisions, decisions. We Americans live in a free market and we personally wouldn’t have it any other way. We, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of American immigrants, are proud to be Americans, proud — to quote Bruce Springsteen — to have been “born in the U.S.A.” It’s why Ivy Coach works with several veterans of our American military each year on a pro bono basis as they apply to highly selective colleges. When other businesses debate bringing their operations overseas, we bring business inseas. And, yes, we totally made up that word for fun. We bring business to America by working with students not only here in America but around the world.

Our business is an American entrepreneurial success story, one born from the living room of a high school counselor on Long Island who dared to demystify the highly selective college admissions process and in so doing built the globally renowned, market-leading firm in helping students earn admission to the colleges of their dreams. But we are not Geico nor will we ever be Geico. America is, as we have said, a free market. But a free market means it’s a free market not just for consumers but for businesses. So when a parent discusses with us during a free consult how they’re shopping private college counselors or, worse, when we dial into a call and hear a private college counselor wrapping up his pitch, you can bet we won’t be taking on these families as clients. We work with a finite batch of students each year and you bet we’re selective in choosing the families with whom we’re going to be navigating the highly stressful college admissions process. We don’t want to work with people we don’t like. We want to work with nice people. We want to work with people who appreciate us. It’s a creed we’ve believed in and operated under for a quarter of a century. It has served us well.

But, Ivy Coach, “Why should I choose you over the thousands of other private college counselors?” As we’re selective in choosing the families with whom we work, ask this question during a free consult at the risk of us not taking you on as a client. But we’ll give you a little taste of an answer now. We’ve got quite the track record.
