Williams College has released its Regular Decision admissions notifications for the Class of 2022. In all, 1,163 students have earned admission to the Williamstown, Massachusetts-based institution. These 1,163 students were drawn from a pool of 9,559 applicants to the elite liberal arts college. Of these admitted students, 265 earned admission through Williams’ Early Decision program or through the QuestBridge Match program. Williams is targeting a class size of 550 students, which was the school’s target last year as well for its Class of 2021.

Breakdown of the Williams College Admits to the Class of 2022

Admitted students to Williams College’s Class of 2022 hail from 53 nations. In fact, 103 of admits are international students. As reports Williams College in its press release about its incoming class, “Among American students, 50 percent identify as students of color: 220 students are Asian American, 187 are black, 165 Latino, and 13 Native American. Thirty-six percent identify as white and four percent opted not to identify. Twenty-three percent are first-generation college students, and eight percent have a parent who attended Williams. A total of 505 identify as men, 578 as women, seven identify as trans or transgender, two as non-binary, one as two spirit, one as genderqueer, and one as another identity. Sixty-eight did not respond to an optional question about gender identity (but did answer a required binary question that appears on the application).” We very much like how Williams shows support for inclusivity by not only asking students about their gender identities on their application but by highlighting the diverse cross-section of the LGBT community in their press release!

Did You Know? Williams College is the second oldest institution of higher learning in Massachusetts.

28% of domestic admits to Williams’ Class of 2022 are from the Mid-Atlantic, 18% from the West, 14% from the South, 14% from the Northeast, 9% from the Midwest, and 6% from the Southwest. Admits hail from 877 high schools. The average SAT scores for these students are 747 in math and 733 in reading, while the average super-scored ACT is a 33. Of those students whose high schools rank, 94% are currently in the top 10% of their classes.

Congratulations to all students who earned admission to Williams College!
