Veterans Applying to College
After the New Year is when we at Ivy Coach take on several veterans of our American military as clients, veterans who hope to gain admission to highly selective American universities. We work with these veterans on a pro bono basis, helping them optimize their chances of admission to any one university. While we’ve been offering pro bono services at Ivy Coach for many years, a couple of years ago, we decided to work exclusively with veterans for our pro bono work.
It wasn’t an easy decision. There are so many folks we’d like to help. There are so many folks who haven’t been veterans whom we have helped over the years, like the young man who juggled his way (literally) into Harvard after living on the streets. We will not soon forget this young man. But after working with several veterans, we realized that they were our favorites. They’ve voluntarily served our country, at great personal risk. Many of them have served in Iraq and Afghanistan and they are deserving of the very best education our nation has to offer them.
We also happened to find that veterans appreciated our pro bono assistance more than any other group. They have been so wonderful to work with and when they do earn admission to the colleges of their dreams, it’s one of the greatest feelings. At Ivy Coach, we are proud to be in the service of America’s veterans. We are proud to help make some of their dreams come true.
