Vanderbilt University has released all decisions for the Vanderbilt University Class of 2022. This year, 30,146 students submitted Regular Decision applications to the Nashville, Tennessee-based university. This figure, which does not include Early Decision I and Early Decision II numbers, marks the largest Regular Decision applicant pool in the history of Vanderbilt University. Of these students, 2,199 earned admission. The Regular Decision admission rate thus stood at 7.3%. It’s anticipated that Vanderbilt’s Class of 2022 will be around 1,600 students. Of the admitted students to the Vanderbilt University Class of 2022 in Regular Decision, 95% are in the top 10% of their graduating high school classes. For those admitted students who took the ACT, the middle 50% stood at 33-35. For those admitted students who took the SAT, the middle 50% stood at 730-780 for Evidence Based Reading and Writing, while the same middle 50% figure for the Math section stood at 770-800.

As Vandy admissions officer Jay Watson writes on the school’s admissions site, “This year’s admitted students were selected from an exceptionally talented applicant pool, the largest and most qualified in our history, as you can see from the statistical summary of our Regular Decision admissions plan below. We are thrilled with the stellar applications we have received — the academic achievements, community involvement, and diversity of backgrounds and experiences among our applicants make our work as an admissions staff both rewarding and challenging. It is an honor to see such talented students seeking Vanderbilt as a destination for college. At the same time, such a strong pool of applicants means our process must be highly selective. Because we must limit our first-year class to just 1,600 students, there are many talented applicants we are not able to admit. It is precisely because these decisions are so difficult to render that we put such careful consideration into our process.”
