It’s been a record year at Tufts University for the Class of 2023. Total applications — including Early Decision I, Early Decision II, and Regular Decision — are up by a margin of 5.5% over last year’s record total pool. In all, 22,701 students applied for admission to the Schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering in the hope of earning admission to the Tufts Class of 2023 (17,748 for Arts and Sciences and 4,348 for Engineering). Of all applicants, a total of 2,480 students applied under Tufts’ Early Decision I or Early Decision II policies, an increase from 2,262 for the Class of 2022.
As reports Laura Ferguson for “Tufts Now” in a piece entitled “Tufts Applications Set Another Record,” “International students comprise 17 percent of the pool, the same percentage as last year. The most represented countries outside the United States are China, India, South Korea, and Turkey. Student interest, however, continues to come from all corners of the globe, including this year from Azerbaijan, Malawi, and the Republic of Kosovo. All fifty states are represented, with most applications coming from Massachusetts, California, and New York.”
