Your Chances of Admission to Syracuse University After Being Waitlisted

This data appears to indicate that Syrcause is quite comfortable turning to its waitlist. The proof is in the pudding: Syracuse has admitted an average of 728 students each year, with an average acceptance rate of 19.54%. Still, there’s no denying that the waitlist acceptance rate varies a bit from year to year. Any guesses as to why? Bueller. Bueller. . .

We know, we know! Yield rate is the culprit behind this variation, A.K.A., the proportion of students admitted to Syracuse who actually enroll. The higher the yield, the less of a need admission officers have to dip into their pool of waitlisted applicants. And unfortunately, since no one has yet figured out how to predict the future, yield for the Class of 2030 is still up in the air.

But you need not concern yourself with what you can’t control. What you can control is how you present yourself in your post-waitlisting pivot. Let’s review:

Your Chances of Admission to Syracuse University After Being Waitlisted with Ivy Coach’s Help

If Syracuse University has waitlisted you for its Class of 2030, we at Ivy Coach can help optimize your case for admission to give you the best shot at earning entry amid the uncertainty you’ve been placed in. It’s a two-step process that goes as follows:

  1. Complete Ivy Coach’s PostMortem application review. It’s a necessary step that will clarify what went wrong, how you previously presented yourself, and how you can make the most of the position you’re in. Think about it: if you suddenly present as a biomedical student after being waitlisted as an English major, that’s sure to raise some eyebrows! We’ll help you leverage your prior application and indicated academic interest into a highly compelling Letter of Continued Interest. Which brings us to. . .
  2. Submit a compelling Letter of Continued Interest to Syracuse University, one that avoids bragging and boasting and instead uses that precious word count to convey a deep interest in and understanding of the things that make Syracuse, well, Syracuse. You might have some idea about how such a letter should be written, and we’re here to turn that idea on its head with our guidance on what actually goes into such a letter.
