Our Admitted Students Get Special Shoutouts

We love it when Stanford’s Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid lauds our students (photo credit: KingofHearts).

Occasionally, we’re asked by prospective clients during free consults, “Why should I choose you? What differentiates you from other private college counseling firms?” Truth be told, we hate the question. You see, we understand that people have choices in a free market economy. Of course, most private college counseling options aren’t particularly good but that’s true in any business sector. Mostly, we dislike the question because it not so subtly asks us to sell and, frankly, we lack motivation to sell our services. While we may rarely get referrals because most folks don’t like to tell their friends that their children had help earning admission to their dream colleges, we always get the younger siblings and we usually get the cousins, too. So when we’re asked that question, what we’re thinking but trying very hard not to say aloud — although sometimes we do if they’re super obnoxious — is: “Why should we choose you?”

Our Proof is in the Pudding

But let’s answer the question right here and now. While there are lots of reasons to choose Ivy Coach, take a look at the bottom of our website where it states that 100% of our students who completed applications with us earned admission to their Early Decision / Early Action school this past Early cycle. As our loyal readers know, we are the biggest proponents of applying Early. To not use your Early card — and to not use it wisely — is to waste the most valuable card in a college applicant’s back pocket. So all of our students apply Early to a reach school. What…you think they’re applying Early to Fordham? Come on now. And, yes, every one of our students got in this year. We couldn’t write it on our website if it weren’t true. After all, our parents and students visit our website. Think about it.

Our Pudding is Delicious

And our students often don’t only just get in. They also find out why they get in. But Ivy Coach, what ever do you mean? What we mean is that our students often get handwritten notes from admissions officers that cite certain elements of their stories (sometimes our students and their parents even forget to send us these handwritten notes which kills us!). Or they get called out in press releases about admitted students to incoming classes. Or, like this week, they’re cited in videos in which admissions czars, like Stanford University Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid Richard Shaw, shine a light on especially remarkable students. Yes, our students are called out as among the very best students admitted to arguably the very best university in America. Check out the video below.
