New York University Class of 2026 Admissions Statistics

It was a record year in admissions at NYU for the Class of 2026 (photo credit: Diego Delso).

New York University received over 105,000 applications to its Class of 2026. It marked the largest applicant pool in the university’s history — and a 5% jump from last year’s tally. Of these students, 12.2% earned admission through the three rounds of admission (combining data from Early Decision I, Early Decision II, and Regular Decision). The overall admission rates at certain NYU undergraduate schools were even lower: the Stern School of Business (7%), the College of Arts and Science (7%), the Rory Meyers College of Nursing (3%). And just who earned admission to NYU’s Class of 2026?

As Arnav Binaykia, Rachel Cohen, and Abby Wilson report for Washington Square News in a piece entitled “NYU acceptance rate falls to 12.2% for 2022 admits,” “According to NYU, 66% of domestic students in the incoming class are students of color. The class of 2026 will represent 49 states, the District of Columbia and 107 countries. Nearly one-fifth of the class will be first-generation college students. More than 1,100 members of the class are projected recipients of Pell Grants — federal grants reserved for students with high financial aid need — and more than 200 students will enroll via the Higher Education Opportunity Program and the New York State Collegiate Science Technology and Education Program. The programs connect underrepresented students to funding and support services.”

Congratulations to all of our students who earned admission to the New York University Class of 2026. We look forward to seeing you around town this fall. Go Bobcats!
