A Crystal Ball in College Admissions

Admissions Crystal Ball, College Crystal Ball, Admission Chances

Ivy Coach’s crystal ball has been tuned over the course of 25 years (photo credit: Derrick Smith).

Maybe you’ve already heard about it. Maybe you read one of its readings in a press article. Or maybe you yourself received a reading. You see, our crystal ball at Ivy Coach precedes us. Yes, you read that correctly. We’ve got a crystal ball. And it’s highly accurate. Its forecasts have been honed over the quarter of a century in which we’ve been helping students earn admission to their dream schools. Our crystal ball can’t predict the weather. It can’t predict the next NBA champion (although we have a feeling it’ll be the Golden State Warriors for the fourth time in five years!). It can’t predict who you’ll marry. But it can predict your chances of admission to a highly selective college — with remarkable accuracy.

Ivy Coach’s Famousl Crystal Ball

In a 2014 article in America’s oldest college newspaper, “The Dartmouth,” our crystal ball was even cited in an interview with Ivy Coach’s Founder, Bev Taylor: “‘I don’t have to respond to any doubts,’ Taylor said. ‘Our clients come to us because they need us. I don’t have to sell Ivy Coach.’ Before our interview ended, I asked Ivy Coach exactly how she can be sure of a client’s likelihood of getting into his or her top choice. ‘We have a crystal ball,’ she said. I couldn’t tell if she was joking.”

She wasn’t joking. We sure do have a crystal ball. There’s a reason such a high percentage of students who come to us before the Early Decision / Early Action round end up applying to only one school — because they get into their Early school. We wouldn’t recommend a student apply to a given school in the Early round if our crystal ball didn’t predict they could, with our help, earn admission. Our crystal ball knows that we help students get into reach schools, reach schools they would unlikely earn admission to without our help. Our crystal ball accounts for our track record in its readings.
