Med school applicants may be interested in taking a look at this year’s “US News & World Report” rankings for best hospitals. Among the competitive universities, Johns Hopkins Hospital ranks third for cancer as well as cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics (UCLA places second), and nephrology. Hopkins ranks first for urology, rheumatology, psychiatry, neurology and neurosurgery, and second for gynecology. Talk about a university setting the pace in the rankings!
And what about overall hospital rankings? Johns Hopkins of course places first followed by Mass General, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, New York Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, UCSF Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Duke University Medical Center, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
